One school of thought says that the strangeness of quantum theory can be put down to a lack of information; if we could find the “hidden variables” the mysteries would all go away.
Quantum physics say that the observed object changes characteristics. I haven't been observed for twenty years, not really. All I have left behind in this world is what this curse has let me change. Years past in quiet solitude, before I discovered the amazing things I could do. Freeze time, almost to a complete stop. Teleport matter, all matter, objects and humans. Like Angelica. She was a nurse judging by the uniform and the nametag.
She was unbelievably beautiful. Where she existed she seemed like an angel. But the bus would soon occupy the same place in time and space as her, and she would never be again. I froze time. I wanted to look at her for a while, before moving her to a place that could save her existence. I walked around her, the bus illuminating her on one side, leaving the other in complete darkness. She had her lips slightly apart, her hand frozen as it moved her hair from her face. I just stood there a minute, ready to move her. The blast of air when our eyes met made me close mine, and the sound of rubber on asfalt was deafening. The shattering sound of two objects occupying the same place in time at once, was followed by a final silence.
I looked around me, standing in the middle of the road. People came to the site of the accident. They did not see me. They did not see me, although I stood in that special place, that place where her eyes once met mine and forever changed what we both saw.
